“It’s just so beautiful ,” exclaims my friend Yolanda as we walk to lunch. There before us on the wall of the corner grocers we are passing, painted in bright blues, vermillions, yellows, browns and white, is a lifesize pictue of the Virgin Mary benevolently looking down on a group of skater kids. Since it wasn’t there yesterday we are both staring at it in shock. Yolanda says it takes her breath away to see such a talented display of expression. My breath is stuck in my throat as well , but not because I am standing here in awe. What she sees as expression, I see as vandalism. What she sees as art, I see as a criminal act. Why can’t people simply buy graffiti prints for their home, instead of using such a public forum as an art gallery? She sees something that adds value to the wall, while I see more unwanted ugliness heaped on our already over “scribbled” city. I recognize that some of the grafitti is the work of artists, but truthfully most of it is just initials, and those that do have artistic value are still displayed on “canvasses” that do not belong to the artists. Using something that does not belong to you, is theft. My own children are punished when they color on the walls. I think other people’s children need to be too.

Dancing on the Moon Like an Astronaut

Recently, Dancing Astronaut has decided to hire some new bloggers and historians to record house music shows in various cities around the country. Their goal is to create a network of dedicated and talented individuals to keep their awesome EDM blog connected to the pulse of the shows around the country. I thought about making my way into this field to try and become someone who has friends in the right places. The only problem was that I loved going to shows, I just didn’t love all the kids and normal fan base that attended the shows along side of me. With their crazy costumes and neon colored rave wear they just look plain old silly. Nonetheless, I was able to put my differences aside and decided to take a stab at the blogging position. We’ll see if I have what it takes to do it, and I hope it pays off in the end.
Corey is So Sad

I was watching an episode of Boy Meets World on ABC Family channel yesterday morning, very early in the morning. It actually made me really sad all day, because Corey was so sad on the episode! His dad, Alan Matthews (played by William Russ) was sick, and Corey was worried. It made me scared for his dad, and for him. Having grown up without a dad, I really, really wanted Alan to survive. But then the school bus came and I had to leave for class before I found out what happened. That was so tough! I was thinking about it all day, and I still don’t know what happened. I tried to search it online, but all that came up was DVD sales online. I am going to watch that channel every minute of every day until that episode comes on again! Then I’ll find out if the Dad is okay! Well, actually, if he is alive on tomorrow’s episode, I guess I can find out that way!
Painting My Piano

Last month I bought this really innovative, creative and absolutely crazy piano lessons for beginners program. I call it crazy because it thinks extremely outside the box and the suggestions it gives in order to learn to play the piano aren’t the normal type of tips and tricks you would get. I figured that I could use a little help to book my first acting gig so I went with One Source Talent. I was auditioning without having an agent and while I liked not having to pay any fees to anyone, it didnt really matter because I wasnt getting any jobs anyway. I would prefer booking a lot of acting jobs and paying someone a percentage of that money rather than not have any work and having to wait tables all day. Some may see it differently, but I have got to pay the bills. This is especially true since I moved out of the house and came here. My parents told me that if I did that they would not be able to support me much because money is so tight for them. Well, I took a chance and I hope it pays off one day and I make a ton of money.

What is the big deal about 3D TVs? That was my question until I actually experienced one. If it wasn’t enough that football games we brilliant on them, or the fact I have grown fond of 3D films, it was the Playstation 3 that sold it to me.
The gamer experience in the 3D is simply out of this world, yes it is expensive to buy 3D TVs, but I fully recommend them to any and everybody, and the bigger the better. We have come a very long way since the tacky 3D experience of the past.
